How to use scorecard and apply Handicaps
Print page and review
{short description of image}
Before Play Begins (Members/ Spares with established Handicaps)
1 Enter Members/ Spares Handicap (except players playing at PAR)
2 Total the Teams Handicaps (unless 1 or more players are playing at PAR)
3 If 1 or more players are playing at PAR, the round is scored without handicap allowances. ( Do not calculate final scores or holes/strokes won until handicaps calculated ) These players handicaps are calculated at the end of the round by subtracting par from their final score. The resulting handicap is then entered into the appropriate box on the scorecard.
4 Determine difference (if any)

Example:
Team 1 total Handicap is 25 ( 6 + 19 )
Team 6 total handicap is 22 ( 10 + 12 )
Difference is 3 strokes
5 The Team with the higher handicap (Team 1) receives the difference between the teams totals ( in example above it is 3 strokes). Therefore, Team 1 receives 3 strokes making the Teams equal in handicaps.
6 On the scorecard, each hole is assigned a handicap and is rated from 1 to 9. "1" being the hardest hole.
7 On the scorecard, indicate (by circling) the holes on which the higher handicap team receives strokes, starting from the 1st to 9th handicaped holes, if more than 1 stroke is given on any hole, then double or triple circle to indicate the number of strokes.
Scoring during Play
1 Enter each players score.
2 On each hole, total each teams score and apply any strokes received to determine the number of strokes and holes won.
Example:
1st and 2nd holes the total teams stroke are equal and no strokes were given, therefoe the holes were halved and is indicated by a slash in the strokes and holes boxes.
3rd hole, Team 1 received 1 stroke.
The stroke total for Team 1 is 3 + 4 minus the 1 stroke for a net score of 6 strokes
The stroke total for Team 6 is 3 + 5 for a score of 8 strokes
Therefore Team 1 wins the hole and gets 2 strokes. This is entered in the strokes box as a + 2 and in the holes box as a +1
Hole 4 and 5 were halved and indicated by slashes
Hole 6, Team 1 receives another stroke so their net score is 7 + 7 minus the 1 stroke for a net score of 13. Team 6 scored 6 + 6 for a total of 12. Team 6 wins the hole by 1 stroke. This stroke is substracted from the existing stroke count of +2 for a result of +1. Since Team 6 won the hole this is also subtracted from the existing hole count of +1 for a result of 0, thereby resulting in holes being equal and indicated by a slash
Hole 7 was halved, indicated by a slash.
Hole 8, Team 1 receives their final stroke so their net score is 7 + 6 minus 1 for a 12. Team 6 scored a 6 + 8 for 14. The stroke difference is 2 in Team 1's favor, so in the strokes box the score is the existng +1 plus the 2 strokes for a total of +3 and a +1 for the hole won for a total of +2.
Hole 9 was halved. so the final score is Team 1 is up by 3 strokes and 2 holes.
Total gross scores are now calculated for each player and associadted handicaps applied to obtain player net scores and Team net scores.
4  The difference between the two Team net scores must equal the number of strokes won.
Two points, each, are given for the winner of the strokes and holes. For a total or 4 points. If either or both are halved, then 1 point for each team is awarded. Example: If a Team wins the holes, they get 2 points, if they tie then each get 1 point. If a Teams wins the strokes, they get 2 points, if they tie then each get 1 point
 Example:
Team 1's final score is 46 - 6=40 plus 49 - 19=30 for a Team Net of 70
Team 6's final score is 42 - 10 =32 plus 53 - 12=41 for a Team net of 73
Verification is the diffirence of 3 strokes equals the total strokes won.
